So my dad just discovered facebook and had the revelation that there was no reason for a family web site, when we have that. lol
Oh well at least wordpress sites are easy to make.
Sounds like plans are shaping up for our visit to Chicago in another month. We may leave Iowa on Thursday so we can have an extra day to go into the city. Can’t wait to see everyone!
Hi folks,
just wanted to let you know that I’ve been looking into the Milliken geneaology. I found Grandma “Hodgson” (our great grandmother) born in 1879 in Oil Creek, PA to Ichabod and Mary Cottrell. At the time she was the youngest of six children, John 11, George 9, Jane 8, William 5 and Kittie 3. I couldn’t find Oil Creek on a PA map but found Oil City and not to far away Oil Creek Park. I’m pursuing more info and will keep you updated.
With the weather (hopefully) around the corner, the folks here in Iowa will be rolling out the tents and camping equipment soon! How many of you are advid campers?

Thanks for another great photo Donna, and I apologize for the misspelling of Duffey!

This is a photo of my grandkids, left to right, Timmy & Jack Wroblewski (Colleen's), Jacob & Brooke Cuddihy (Sean's).

Anyone out there?
We have quite a few members signed up, but not a lot of posting… I wondered if maybe there is some confusion on how to use the site? Feel free to email any questions you may have.
You must login (link on the sidebar) and you’ll be taken to the “Dashboard”, you can get back to the actual site by clicking the visit site link, all the way up at the top… but the fun thing you can do from the dashboard page is write a post.
Posting
After you login you should see a sidebar on the left hand side, click on “Posts” and Add New. It’ll bring up a text box where you can write about whatever you’d like. There are also a slew of menu buttons to format text that if you hover over them with a mouse will tell you what they do.
Pictures
To add a picture to your post click on the add an image button. You can either link to an existing photograph say in a flickr album, or upload a photo found on your computer.
Publish
When you’re all done with your post and are ready for others to read it, go to the right sidebar. Pick a category if you like, for example I choose Site News for this post. You can also tag your post with keywords to make it easier to search for. This stuff is all optional however, as you can always skip this and just click the “Publish” button. You also have the option to save a draft and come back later with the “Save Draft” button.
To go back later and edit any post, published or not, visit the left sidebar again under “Posts” and click the “Edit” link.
Comments
After logging in and seeing the dashboard page, click the “Visit Site” link all the way at the very top of the page. This leaves you logged in and able to post comments on every one’s posts. You may have noticed a lot of the posts say “no comments”, if you click that, you’ll be able to leave someone a note, and the comments will update to say “1 comment”.
Hope this helps!
